The Stars are playing hard, but Detroit is simply better. Way better.

I almost hope for the sweep for 2 reasons:
1) It'll allow these guys to begin recuperating that much earlier, without any more travel. We all know 4 straight is impossible here, so they can rest up this summer with the knowledge that they left it all on the ice, ready to push things forward next year.
2) It'll allow Stars fans to give one last "Thank You" on home ice.

Of course, the "Thank You" should happen either way.Poncenomicshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00617946618572642818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-42096129953911843162008-05-13T13:40:00.000-05:002008-05-13T13:40:00.000-05:00Regardless of how this series finishes up, the Sta...Regardless of how this series finishes up, the Stars are "back." Not in the sense of even being a legit contender for years to come. Maybe they will be. Who knows.

But the Stars are BACK in the Dallas spotlight. If and when the Red Wings finish the Stars season, the important thing is knowing that thanks to this great playoff run, hockey matters in North Texas once again.

- JoshJoshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03740953872003355633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-46670238814122357382008-05-13T11:21:00.000-05:002008-05-13T11:21:00.000-05:00I couldn't have said it better myself. Well said,...I couldn't have said it better myself. Well said, Bob.

It has been quite a ride with these overachievers. You kind of have a feeling that is not meant to be when you basically control the 1st period, and you look up and you are behind.

Standing ovations are in order no matter what happens in the next 48 hours.Andy D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14976464054968252811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-86022296100068721082008-05-13T11:16:00.000-05:002008-05-13T11:16:00.000-05:00The Versus announcers are just adding to the suffe...The Versus announcers are just adding to the suffering. What blabbering bobble-headed Canadian boobs they are. Now you see why the creators of South Park made Canadians so that their heads just bounce out of control as they vomit cartoon-voiced high pitched nonsense.

These guys are actually calling the game from the Detroit perspective. Have you noticed that when the Stars have a power play the announcers will always say, "Half of the penalty kill is over." That Detroit is their favorite is presupposed in almost every statement they make.

Kill me.ficklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02607511117338474557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-39809820601986414262008-05-13T11:01:00.000-05:002008-05-13T11:01:00.000-05:00the cocaine & boob job crowdHa! I can completely understand booing if there was a lack of effort, but that certainly hasn't been the case here. The fact is that the Red Wings are simply a clearly superior team.

The Stars overachieved some by making it as far as they have anyway, so my hat is off to them for a great season.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04831137936388404022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-30627020485442365632008-05-13T09:42:00.000-05:002008-05-13T09:42:00.000-05:00Was at the game last night...the Hudler breakaway ...Was at the game last night...the Hudler breakaway goal was the backbreaker. The Stars looked like they saw the writing on the wall from that point on. The Red Wings are playing the best defense I've seen in the NHL in 10 years right now and they will beat the Pens or Flyers in the Finals.

My hat is off to them...they are a supremely talented team playing an almost mistake-free brand of hockey.

I was ashamed of the vocal minority of Stars fans who booed their own team last night. Are you people serious? You're booing your own team in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals? You stay classy, "Stars fans". The Boys busted their a$$e$ to get here and all you have for them are boos?

Well, at least we beat the Red Wings in one area this week: Signing Fabian Brunnstrom.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11284321094145549001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-18408646116957467912008-05-13T09:36:00.000-05:002008-05-13T09:36:00.000-05:00Consider it enjoyed. And dang, those Red Wings are ...Consider it enjoyed.

And dang, those Red Wings are good. I mean, as much as I hate it, how amazing will a Pittsburgh-Detroit final be for the NHL. That's a whole lot of skill on the ice.

But, may that have to wait awhile. There is still Wednesday.
