Somehow, someway, they'll get it done tonight and dispense with this hooey about numerology and coming back from down 0-3.Gravypanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17622757332605804003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-16258200688918152412008-05-04T14:16:00.000-05:002008-05-04T14:16:00.000-05:00While I wish the Stars had put away this series in...While I wish the Stars had put away this series in Games 4 or 5, the point Bob makes about adversity is one that cannot be overlooked. The Stars have yet to trail in a series this postseason. When they won it all in 1999, Dallas lost the opening game of the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Finals. They were even down in the series 2-3 against Colorado in that '99 series when they lost Games 1 and 5 at Reunion. When they went back to the finals again in 2000, they did it by overcoming a 2-1 series deficit against the Avs in the conference finals.

(1990s playoff series results)
(2000s playoff series results)

You don't win it all by coasting. If this team is going to make it to the conference finals and beyond, they will have to overcome some obstacles. Fortunately for this team, they jumped out to a 3-0 series lead. Well, now that's down to 3-2. They are in the favorable position of having a second chance to close the series against SJ AT HOME. Very few road teams in the playoffs get that chance. Here is the perfect opportunity for the Stars to show they belong in the final four. Close out the Sharks in six tonight, and put a stop to this two-game skid, and Dallas will then be merely four wins away from playing for the cup.

LETS GO STARS!

- JoshJoshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03740953872003355633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-69583360211998016542008-05-03T15:37:00.000-05:002008-05-03T15:37:00.000-05:00Bob, great as usual, for a Badger fan (Go Sioux).S...Bob, great as usual, for a Badger fan (Go Sioux).

Sam, I hate Turco's 5-hole, see Anaheim series for 2 true weak goals. Goal 2 is a breakaway. Goal scorers score close to 30-40% of the time in shootouts and thats when the goalie can concentrate on 1 player.

And goal #3 (OT) is insane to blame on Turco. You cannot let a guy skate FREELY from the side boards, through the hashes in the slot and get a shot while the goalie is moving side to side. The guy had time to find a hole and buried it. That's bad defense and a great shot, not bad goaltending.

Yes, Turco is not great. His 5 hole is as big as Pam Anderson's after a night on the town with Tommy Lee. And he did not make ENOUGH big saves last night. But with a two goal lead in the 3rd period, this was a team meltdown, not much different than Avery's Mavs in Miami.jazer98https://www.blogger.com/profile/08802158418279972332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-3736017145782750002008-05-03T12:46:00.000-05:002008-05-03T12:46:00.000-05:00bob,probably the most spot-on article i've read th...bob,

probably the most spot-on article i've read this year. i am 100% with you on every point. excellent job.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02108745870883133701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-60421137357569348482008-05-03T12:16:00.000-05:002008-05-03T12:16:00.000-05:00vinic--you can also listen to the radio feed throu...vinic--you can also listen to the radio feed through nhl.com. it is only active right before the game starts, but you click on the score box at the top of the page and choose "listen". you can pick home or away radio feed.

hope this makes sense, and helps.toddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15287058077595185707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-28011742792620526182008-05-03T11:51:00.000-05:002008-05-03T11:51:00.000-05:00vinic - here is a link that may help you:http://ww...vinic - here is a link that may help you:

http://www.myp2p.eu/index.php?part=sportsthis bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12631459027689598765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-64795839686416228712008-05-03T10:25:00.000-05:002008-05-03T10:25:00.000-05:00Didn't that smiling ahole in the booth upstairs lo...Didn't that smiling ahole in the booth upstairs look alittle like Philip Seymour Hoffman?BaDRadiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07858265914579863252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10242068.post-46226605612298797042008-05-03T09:59:00.000-05:002008-05-03T09:59:00.000-05:00I'm stuck out of state with no cable until the end...I'm stuck out of state with no cable until the end of May. Albeit better this year, his OT Playoff record now stands at a dismal 3-10. That's weak. Just as weak as SJ goals 2 & 3 that he allowed last night. Just once, we'd like #35 to stand on his head and carry us to a closeout-the-series Playoff win. Perhaps we'll always be spoiled by Belfour's clutch performances in 1998,99 and 2000. I understand there were team breakdowns last night, but at the end of the day, especially to clinch a series, #35 HAS to be the difference maker and once again, he wasn't. Bob, when are you going to hold Turco fully accountable and call him out?Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15659716143633654522noreply@blogger.com
