Happy Birthday to Us!

That’s right. On June 14, 1999, Bob and Dan were launched into the waters of DFW Radio. Somehow, we have lived to see Birthday #6 for this show, and we are tickled. Thanks those of you that support our product day in and day out. We may annoy you occasionally, but you keep coming back for more. Thanks.

Young dominates Atlanta

Speaking of All-Star matters, at some point somebody might notice that Young is 6-3 with a 2.78 ERA that is third in the American League behind Kenny Rogers and Roy
Halladay.

"If you go by a pitcher's performance and he's in the top five or 10 in ERA, I see no reason why he shouldn't be considered for the All-Star Game," catcher Rod Barajas said. "If he keeps pitching the way he is, I see no reason why he shouldn't make the team."

Young wasn't ready for such talk.

"You guys are getting way ahead of me," Young said. "I try to go out every time and build on my last start. I've had some games where I didn't pitch as well, but tonight was one of my better games."

From today’s NEWBERG REPORT :

Pitcher A: 6-5, 4.48 in 18 starts; .278 opponents' average; 3.2 walks and
7.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

Pitcher B: 9-5, 3.39 in 20 starts; .257 opponents' average; 2.2 walks and
7.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

Pitcher A was Chris Young as a Frisco RoughRider.

Pitcher B is Chris Young as a Texas Ranger.

I don't know about you, but I'm realizing I've been too absorbed in
following this team to step back and comprehend what a ridiculously amazing
phenomenon this is. The command and composure Young shows may be filthier
than his stuff. And his stuff is pretty good.

Revo on the bullpen

"We need to get lucky again," Showalter said.

Precisely. That's exactly what happened to the Rangers last season when two big power arms, Francisco and Almanzar, came out of nowhere to bridge the gap between the seventh inning and Francisco Cordero in the ninth.

This time, though, it's going to take more than luck. It's going to take precision timing, good scouting and a willingness in the Rangers' front office to pull the trigger on the right deal.

No waiting for next year. No building for the future, though certainly it's always wise to keep an eye in that direction.

But every indication is that the AL West is there for the taking for a team willing to be both bold and clever.

As recommended by Jamey Newberg today, Here is the feature on Juan Dominguez from Texas Rangers.com

Poor Junior. It almost isn't fun to cheer against his fans anymore. Although it sure has gotten quiet from the #8 camp. Somewhere, that #15 crew that got blamed for Dale's trouble last year are giggling...

Here is a new (to me) Rangers blog that I have stumbled across: Joe Siegler’s Texas Rangers Site ….looks promising...

Holmgren tried to get Rice to retire …Rice ignored him, and signed in Denver…

Glazer takes over Manchester United

And now, the reward for reading all the way to the end: Triumph strikes again, this time with Michael Jackson Fans ...

Tonight, Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Braves and Rangers, and other stuff. What do I care most about? Yes, that's right. The Season Finale of the Shield ...Go get em, Vic.

Pretty good entry for such a slow sports day.

    Happy Birthday to BaD Radio!!!

BaD Radio is on my list as the #1 rated show on the Ticket! Great job boys!

Now, that said, let's talk Jr and the 8 team. As always, I am never silent when it comes to Jr and Nascar, so I don't know where you get that idea. I guess I am a little confused when you say Jr fans blame the 15 team for poor performance? Have I missed something here?

Enjoy your time Bob slamming the 8 team Bob, but in reality, your 24 team has had how many DNF's this season? LOLOLOL Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to pick on poor little Jeffwe's team. Has he learned Take me out to the ball game yet at Wrigley FIELD yet?

I heard Jeffwe and his ex-wife are getting back together! I understand she is having a sex change...lmao..

    Have a good one Bob.

I am not sure it says anything in there about them being blamed by the fans. It says they were blamed. And, of course, it was blame from the only two people that matter: Jr, and his step-momma.

Bob, I remember several years ago listening on a Saturday or Sunday and you were on "with your friend Dan from out of town." I could tell even then that it was going to be a great show. The moment I think of most was you mentioning that you had every Michael Jordan playoff game on tape or somesuch and you could hear the audible panic in Dan's voice. He had to be thinking, what the hell have I gotten myself into getting hooked up with this sportsnerd?

    Good times.

    Bob,

IF the crew that got blamed for Jr's trouble last year actually happened (which I don't recall that ever happening)that would be the 15 crew today, which are Earnhardt's cousins. Eury Sr. and Jr. have a financial stake in DEI. I doubt there would be much laughter with a team mate and relative's bad season.

Let's see #8 win just one Cup championship, muchless four like #24 has. Then he can crow about something. In the meantime, all he has is a big bag...

    Well,
At least Jr. doesn't work for an owner who was under an indictment for bribery and had to get an ex-president to let him off.

Hendrick Motor Sports has 6 teams racing each week. DEI needs to put more cars in the field to compete against those numbers. Jeff has had the best of everything, but he still can't drive in traffic. The only way he wins is if his little buddy JJ can tailgate for him...wonder why that is? I guess he likes it.

Happy Birthday BaD Radio and hears to another 6 great years (or at least until I'm out of your demographic)

Things I've learned from BaD Radio
    1. Gay doesn't necessarily mean Homosexual
    2. The open door policy is bad
    3. Dan hates his family
    4. Wisconsin DOES have Mexicans
    5. In England a F$g is a cigarette
    6. Bob is truly a sport's nerd
    7. All things Cleveland and Milwaukee get WAY too much attention: see also Star Wars
    8. It's ok to groom yourself "down there"
    9. Don't record your wife in the bathroom
    10. Compared to what the BaD radio crew is getting, my wife actually puts out pretty regularly

    Thanks for the show!!

Lew is the gayest person in the universe.

We get it. You think Jeff Gordon is gay. Hilarious. Don't bother arguing on a higher level than that.

BaD Radio also taught us that it is indeed possible to take any dang song and make it a Tom, Bob or Dan laugh song.

I think in honor of Bob's church fetish, someone should do a Bob laugh track to "Amazing Grace" or "The Old Rugged Cross".

    Bob,
What about some college World Series talk? Great game last night with Texas barely surviving over Ole Miss

BaD radio has also taught us that we are not listening to the guy in the next cubicle, and that the mlb team in detroit are the detroit targers.

Have enjoyed the show even going back when the Sturminator flew solo at night and Dan still had his gig as the "Big Dawg" in Cleveland.
My heart was broken when I found out a few months ago that Sturm did not invent "HEY NOW!".

    Hey Eric....

Why don't you put your head between your legs a and jump up your gay ass?

    Lew

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous1:47 PM

Well, I guess the Sturminator has censored all my comments....

That figures a Gordon fan would do that.

    Lew

  18. Lew,

You may want to look censor up in the dictionary. I haven't deleted/changed/blocked anything you have said...yet. But simmer down, chief.

Lew, I think you're making sarcastic statements and taking shots at everyone by inferring that they are gay. No one does that to you, so you shouldn't be taking shots at our expense. You're a big jerk...
