I have very little time this morning, but here is my effort in 10 minutes or less...
Daily Dime Report on Game 1 …
Rangers get swept, look horrible in Philadelphia …But who looks good in Philly, really…
Revo thought Drese decision was easy …
Hold the Ryan Drese conspiracy theories, Sherlock. Quit digging for the "real story" behind the Rangers suddenly dumping their Opening Day starter.
It's really not as complicated as it seems. All you have to do is look closely at the numbers.
Here's your conspiracy theory in a nutshell: 6.46 ERA; 96 hits in 69 2/3 innings; 24 walks, 20 strikeouts.
Absolutely putrid.
Hart said bullpen not an option for Drese …
Dwain Price in San Antonio for the NBA Finals …
With Pocono is this weekend, This writer is taken to task by the legions of Junior Fans ….
Feature on Eklund by ESPN.com …
Liverpool will be allowed to defend its crown! …Yeeeeeeeesssssssssss!!!!
And now, a feature E-Mail about the Rangers Brass:
I could care less if John Hart talks to the Media as long as 162 times a year i can hear from an Important Ranger I'll be happy. I'm tired of the personal feud that's going between the media and the Rangers . As a fan I would rather have the winning / media unfriendly rangers than the media friendly bunch that was losing with zero prospects of winning. Take a poll and ask the real fans do they care more about the winter carnival or the fall classic? It makes you and the rest of the media look bad when you cry about the Rangers’ brass not giving you enough attention. I know you have a job to do, so do they. But can't you wait until they start losing before you get down on them? Business first, fun later.
Reemmy
I hardly believe it to be a personal feud when so many people feel that they are not accountable for their actions to their fans- If the president decided not to speak to the media or public, would people mind? Not to compare World Peace to Baseball, but the president speaks every time there is an event because he must, not because he thinks it is fun- When the Rangers fans pay the bills, hearing from their leader is not too much to ask- He is obligated to be front and center to explain the team’s rulings.
Bob,
ReplyDeleteI'm a Jr. Fan and I am not sure why the "Jr. Fan" is so upset with the media and someone speaking the truth. Bottom line is DEI has problems no question about it. Life isn't always a bowl of cherries and I recognize it. But I am not prepared to challenge every small comment that shines negative light on Jr.
DEI will improve. Until that time we fans will just have to live with the questions about the organization. I think it's healthy to question procedures in an organization. When we as a people can't do that, we may as well move to Iraq.
Good blog, Bob.

No, sports teams have an obligation to put out a good product, not talk to us about it. When we buy a loaf of bread, we want bread that is delicious and not covered with mold. We don't need the president of the bread company calling us or putting out a press release about how they are going to continue to make good bread, or they will stop the mold issue or they are sending a marbled rye down to the minors. Sports is a business, a product. Nothing more. The product is the bottomline at both ends - with ownership and the public who pays for the entertainment. Most of us have real jobs and don't get to sit around and make fart jokes and talk about football all day.
ReplyDeleteBob,
ReplyDeleteI don't quite understand your logic. Let me give you an example.
When "The Hotspot" suddenly wasn't working at The Ticket, or when we all heard about what white chicks like to do on Gordo's Corner the other day, I don't remember the Catman coming on to explain what happened. I don't remember the Susquehanna president calling a press conference to tell us what was going on. If we as the listeners pay YOUR bills (as we indirectly do through our TSL and CUME that your advertisers want to see), aren't we entitled to an explanation that is "front and center"?
I think we all would like to hear about the Drese fight and release and other things of that nature, but to say the Ranger's Brass is "obligated" to be front and center with us is both arrogant and hypocritical.
Last nights NBA final was as anticipated. Two teams get a little beat up on the offensive side against a level of defense neither team is used to play against. They are 1 and 2 although their defenses are not that similar. Ginobili went crazy in the second half. He looks like he plays with fake hustle but that boy has skills in finishing. I never realized just how good Rasheed is on defense. He was giving Duncan fits. This is like the anti-Dallas vs. Suns series ---viewers are rewarded with superb defense on both ends instead of superb offense.

Who gives a rat's arse about the Rangers anyway. Once the NBA Finals are over, it'll be time to gear up for the upcoming NFL season...
ReplyDeleteLew's life revolves around nascar and crying on bob's blog.
ReplyDeleteeric
OK, That call's for a Grubes drop with "Eric" ......LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with all the hype on Danica Patrick being HOT? She's NOT. She's cute. Even with a sport's exemption she's a 7 at best. She's definitely the hottest IRL driver in my humble testerone-driven opinion. The hottest sports chick out there is Maria Sharapova the 6 foot long legged Russian tennis player. Danica bumps up to a 7 1/2 or maybe an 8 with enough war paint. She's 5 foot nothing and as Reba McEntire face.

Did you lie to us just to get more hits on your blog?
I feel so used.
The reason for comments is to get your opinion out there on the internet. All the idiots who actually read this blog will benefit from your genius or idiocy. Bob "the Almighty" shall only respond to emails or comments that are worthy.
ReplyDeleteI need an AttyDan comment right now calling for a Meredith viewing or I promise I will end it all.
ReplyDeletei think that's a bunch of crap about the fans not caring what the rangers do. it's not just the media that cares. just b/c you don't, doesn't mean noone else does. if i pay money for tickets that go up every year, buy merchandise, and am a loyal fan, i want to know what the hell is going on. it's not the media that only cares. these guys have an obligation to the fans to tell them what's going on. there is no league, no multimillion dollar contract, no tv deal if the fans don't care. yes, i know there are those that could care less what the rangers do, but as a fan, i want to know why they make a move. john hart is a jackass. i dont care if they win the world series this year, it will be to no credit of his. i wish we still had a gm like doug melvin. the rangers have great players who are very likeable, and that's what keeps me attached to this team. if the front office was more open like the mavs, stars, and cowboys, more people may actually give a damn about them.
ReplyDeleteF Tom Hicks and that whole "financial flexibilty" crap.
ReplyDeleteF John Hart for chasing Grady Fuson out of town. Until we get at least a division title under his dictatorship, he can keep his claptrap shut. Damn I miss Melvin....
One of the other posters here was right in that this bunch of Rangers is a likable bunch - that's one of the few things that keeps me a Ranger fan.
