Roy helps administer a Shocker

Are you freaking kidding me?

This season can’t be for real. With each week comes another amazing finish (both good or bad). Down 20-7, and dead as can be, the Cowboys score twice in 15 seconds and send the Eagles to an early grave.

Amazing.

They lost the line of scrimmage offensively. They lost the line of scrimmage defensively. They could not run the ball. They could not stop the run. And yet, McNabb hit Roy Williams between the 3 and the 1 and Ol’ Roy made one of those big plays that I begged him to make, and he marched right in for the winning score.

They played like garbage, and won. Which pays them back for dominating Washington in Week 2 and losing. It all evens out I suppose.

The Cowboys appear to be the real deal if they can play badly, go to Philadelphia, and figure out how to win. Heck, the swept the freakin’ Philadelphia Eagles.

Enjoy this one, Cowboys fans.

This whole league sucks and every week, something new can happen...that's why it all evens out when you're as good as the Boys are and lose to Washington and then play like tonight and Beat the Eagles. I have to say I love it though...Let's hear it for the best Cowboys team I've seen in almost a decade. Got to give it to them...EAGLES SUCK

what a freaking game!!! there aren't many things better in sports then watching the eagles fans sit in agony, boo, and throw f bombs at their own team. they aren't the nfc "dynasty" anymore, and the cowboys stuck the dagger in their heart tonight. what i love about the 2005 version of the Dallas Cowboys is the fact that they have been competitive in every single game. the redskins & seahawks losses still sting, but tonight was some redemption for those two tough losses. the cowboys were the ones to comeback 13 points down late in the 4th quarter on monday night and they were the ones to get the late interception and streak down the sideline for the late score.

like all serious contenders, the cowboys have had their share of luck this year, but you have to put yourself in a position where the luck can make a difference for you. 6-3 and in first place!! the biggest game of the year is now that giants showdown in the meadowlands on dec. 5th....that could be the game that decides division title...i don't want to knee jerk too much, but this looks like a special team that could do some damage in january.

  4. It's about time an opposing kicker missed a frickin' field goal, and it took a 60-yarder for it to happen. Philly has won how many in a row after leading at halftime? Philly has won how many in a row when they had a lead of 10 points or more? The parallels with the Washington game (Parcells is 187592-0 when leading in the 4th quarter) were incredible. The Cowboys are now 4-3 in last-possession coin-flip games (to their credit, they turned this certain loss into a coin flip at the end) and 2-0 in blowouts.

I want to know what their defense was thinking leaving Terry Glenn in one-on-one coverage on that touchdown pass. I LOVE the fact that the Cowboys can finally DARE the Eagles to blitz and then make them pay for it (sometimes).

I want to know who has the photos of McNabb naked with farm animals, because I can't think of any other reason he throws that pass to Roy. It's funny that in both games between Dallas and Philly, the visiting team returned an interception for a touchdown. We were due one of those!

The highlight of the game for me were the loving, lingering shots of upset Philly fans. Especially the bald guy with the lime-green stripe down the center of his head that looked ready to shoot himself before just letting out a really loud "F*CK!". Nothing is funnier that the disconsolate fan who is all decked out in a headdress or face paint or crazy costume for the team, having to sit through the final bitter minutes of a tough loss.

Also, what is the deal with half of the stadium leaving early?

Enjoy your trip back down into mediocrity, Eagle fans. Too bad you couldn't get a Super Bowl out of it while you were good. Really. Too bad.

  5. Oh yeah, and Keyshawn was a warrior and very visible leader last night. He seemed to be one of the few taking the game as seriously as it deserved. Come playoff time, he's going to be our Nick van Exel.

T.O. could learn a lot about how to rehabilitate his career by watching Keyshawn these past few years.

Okay, I'll do a little college football linkage for the Sturm:

Bill Snyder to retire from Kansas St.

'Horns hook another top QB commit, stealing him from Urban Meyer & Florida

So let me get this straight, we beat Philly on the road and now get Detroit & Denver at home. Why do I get a strong feeling we could go 0-2 in these games?

Once again, only idiots bet on Pro Football. The point spread is the spawn of Satan.

Here is a funny legal story about South Padre.

I'm too pissed about 45 minutes of crappy football in order to truly celebrate this win.

We ran on EVERY first down in the first 2-3 quarters except for ..what.. once? (and that was an 8 yard pass).

Each time the running play net'ed 2 yards at best.

Parcells has got to turn loose the dogs or we're kidding ourselves about this team going anywhere. We won't win this game 95% of the time, we got lucky.

all i know is i damn near fell out of my chair when i saw roy williams playing like an nfl defensive back on that 1 play.
now if only he could do that every play, and not get torched for 50yrd td's

  10. I actually AM happy about the first 45 minutes of football. Because it proved that the Cowboys can go out and lay an egg and still come out of a hostile enviornment with a W.

Anybody can win when things are clicking, its a lot more telling/impressive to win when they aren't.

  12. PS - Well said, Observer. Many athletes would benefit from seeing how Keyshawn has rehabbed his image. And I like the comparison to van Exel.

As has been mentioned a few times here - it's impressive when you can play badly, on the road, on Monday night, and stil find a way to win.

There's lots of stuff to improve on from this one, but, as Bob says, it's not "How?", it's "How many?"

  14. Geez, Sturm. Yesterday, it was the "I gotta get my bench press on". Today it's something about a dentist...What's next? Manicures...Facials...Full body massages?
Or will it be "I'm too busy overseeing the Pool construction?"

    Whatever the case...
Last night mostly sucked, then it got better. Nice to see Roy streaking down the sidelines for the TD.

Keyshawn is money. You see when Lewis came up to lay the wood, only to end up sawing logs? Loved it.

Hated the offensive "scheme" (is that what that was?). Got owned up front on both sides of the ball.

Even so, 6-3 sure sounds a helluva lot better than 5-4. And on the road in P.H.illy, to boot.

    Priceless.

Bob should be carefull taking to much "me time" away from the blog. He could lose the new blog sponsorships!

Damn, that is great. I wish anybody cared what I had to say so I could charge people to sponsor my opinions.

If anyone wants Arrested Development on DVD, Amazon.com has both Season 1 & 2 sets together for only $31.94. That's about half the normal price. Seeing as how this great show was cancelled, this will be the only way to enjoy it from now on unfortunately...

You're shooting fish in a barrel. Finding grammar issues on a sports blog is too easy.

All we want to do is discuss sports. We don't need to be graded on our efforts.

For a real challenge, why don't you find, and critique, a grammar blog?
