Happy 3rd Of July!

An artist's rendition of what Donovan did to Bob...
Back to work after a wacky weekend. You've got me on the blog today and tomorrow before your leader returns, so deal with it...
--------------------------------------------

The good news from free agency over the weekend: the Jet is staying in Dallas for awhile...

...and the bad news: now-former Stars center Jason Arnott wastes little time finding a new home, as he signs a long-term deal with Nashville...

...also lose backup goalie Johan Hedberg.

------------------------------------

The Stars do bring a familiar face back to the fold, working a deal to get Darryl Sydor from the Lightning...

--------------------------------

Rangers lose the Silver Boot, 2-of-3 to the Astros and Kevin Millwood gets injured...

...but they do get
two guys on the AL All Star roster.

---------------------------------------

"Hey I know that dude."

Couple invents Weed-Lover's Pizza...

Another reason I like soccer.

Does anyone else think we will rue the day of a $50 million contract to Jason Terry?

Not I. I think Terry likes it here, this is his style of basketball. The kid had heart when he played for the Hawks too, he was just stuck on a lousy team.

I'd like to see if she's Brazilian *down there*.

JET's contract is barely a raise over what he was making. People just ee 50 mil and assume it's a big contract....

Terry will be fine...and for the price and terms of the contract, it's a steal for a guy who scores like he does and who *likes* being a Mav!

If you want to talk about a contract that a team will regret, look no further than the Preds' signing of Arnott. That's not a good fit for them or for him; that being said, I'm sad to see him go. He did have a very good fit here in Dallas.

I think that he's going to be one of those guys who will always be judged against his potential coming out of juniors instead of as the skilled but not spectacular veteran player that he's become.
