Yes Indeed....SeaBass here....Bloggin for you Rascals as Bob takes a Vacation....

I know full well that it's football season and the Mavs doings are not front of mind, however I feel it necessary to lead with PG Devin Harris getting a 5 year extension from the Mavs.....

Many of you, like myself, are still dealing with the heartache from this summer's dissapointment in round 1, but this move is getting me a little jazzed for some hoops.....This move I think is going to be cheered and criticized by the fans....Harris migt be the most frustrating player we have seen in this current Mavs era, but I find this to be a smart move for a couple of reasons.....

1- This might indicate that Avery is ready to give the kid the keys to the carand let him run the show without second guessing himself everytime he runs up the floor to initiate the offense....we have see glimpses from Devin so many times.....maybe now Avery is willing to say, "our baby boy is all growns up" and let him play without hesitation heading into the news season as the QB of this offense....

2- The rest of the league sees Harris' upside and by us giving him a 5 year deal, it would make him a little more attractive if the Mavs decide to deal him down the road....it's a lot tougher to deal a guy who hasn't lived upto full potential with an expering contract.....a lesser team that is rebuilding would probably love to have a PG like Harris if they can get 3 or 4 years of control over the player....

3- This move tells the rest of the guys in the room....(and this means you JET).....that Harris is the guy and everyone else needs to fall in line with their roles.....now lest just hope that Devin can take his game to the next level....

Alright now on to Football....

This is Cowboy counrty, but I think we can all feel good about inured Bills TE, Kevin Everitt's small miracle

Every now an then there are happenings in sports that make us all take a step back and take a look at the bigger picture....watching football Sunday, we were all in our happy place enjoying the return of real NFL football....then the update rolls in, and suddenly that Cowvoys/Giants game that night doesn't seem all that important....By no means I am a spiritual man, but it is awesome to see when prayers are answered. Hopefully the good news continues for Everitt and his family....

He's baaaack....at practice anyway.

T-new and that Grumpy-Gus Greg Ellis actually suited up and worked on a limited basis at the Ranch yesterday....C-Wat has more

I do wonder, like we all do, when Terrance will be completely healthy....I know I am not alone in being a little frustrated with the Boys about how they have handled this whole planar fascia injury...granted, they didn't know it would be a severe as it is, but it would have been nice for us and the team to know they will be without their best defensive back for x amount of time while Newman can get back to full health before games really begin to matter later in the season...

Yesterday it came out that the Boys are interested in D-Tackle Tank Johnson....I like talent in the front 7 as much as anyone, but I think that Dallas should shy away from this. Tank comes with a lot of off-the-filed crap that can cause chaos on a team....Dallas doesn't need anymore of that....and is it just me or could Jay Ratliff really step in and be a bit of a force now that Fergie is done for the year? He had the Boys only sack Sunday night and he is not your typical Nose Tackle that takes up space, he is pretty active and can move in the middle, which seems to fit in with the 'Phillips 3-4'....which needs to have a better showing Sunday in S. Floida....and after watching that Miami offense last week against a spare Washington team, I think Wade will feel a little better about things....

Now some NFL Quick-Hits.....

Eli getting better

Pennington, not as much
....and it's pretty f'ing sorry for the Jets home crowd to cheer his injury Sunday against the Pats....

A slew of injured Ravens....btw I love me some Ray Lewis....

So, am I the only one that thinks this is not that big of a deal??? Stealing signs happens in every sport, granted the use of video equipment is a little sorry, but even if the players have an idea of what is coming they still have to execute.....I know stories like this can give Norm 3 segments per show....However I just don't thinks this is that big of a deal.....Ther Patriots are still one of the best teams in the AFC and them bleing clued into defensive signal probably don't give them a decided advantage, and if you disagree you don't know that much about football....A QB can see a blitz coming, and some of the time it doesn't matter with the incredible speed of the game. I already have tired head over this, slap the Pats on the writs and make them lose a few 2nd day picks and move on....

However, I see a lot of promise of a kid who is figuring it out finally at the Big League level.....He gave Texas 6 innings andmade 2 mistake pitches to Shef and Maggs....that happens to 20 game winners too...His last 3 outings since getting called up have been enough for me to pencil him into that 2008 rotation.....Now the Rangers are heading west for a series w/ Oakland, maybe Texas can take over 3rd place this week.....(gotta play for something right?)....

Alright that is it for today....No blog tomorrow as Bob is out and I have to get ready for a Friday night High School Football broadcast....so everyone have a kick-ass weekend.....
Before I get ready for work....here is some music to get you through your day.....

This is a chick called Feist, and for some reason I am attracted to her and I think the song and video are pretty cool, it's in that new ipod commercial....enjoy....

    Comment from a consulting neurosurgeon:

"I don't know if I would call it a miracle. I would call it a spectacular example of what people can do," Green said. "To me, it's like putting the first man on the moon or splitting the atom. We've shown that if the right treatment is given to people who have a catastrophic injury that they could walk away from it."
