Igor, Igor!

It took 86 minutes, but Igor Biscan (below, #25) scored a very rare goal and Liverpool finally shook Bolton off, for a very necessary 1-0 win at Anfield.

Game Story ...

With a patched-up side, stripped of a fully-fit striker, they somehow survived against a physical, driven Bolton, who must surely have felt this was a victory there for the taking when they saw Liverpool's team sheet.

But somehow Liverpool survived the aerial bombardment, with Steve Finnan twice heading off the line, as Bolton fought for the victory they needed to maintain their own dreams of the Champions League.

It was only the second goal of Biscan's Anfield career, but it cut Everton's lead in fourth spot to just one point with their Mersey rivals feeling the heat now at West Brom on Sunday.

Everton plays tomorrow at West Brom, with only a 1 point lead now , with Round 31 out of 38 coming to a close.

C’mon Liverpool! Catch them!

Unrelated, but hell, it's got to be said somewhere. "Battlestar Galactica" is great. I mean, that finale had a lot of confusing things, and I guess I could make an argument that it was all over the place. On the other hand, I haven't been more on the edge of my seat with any show in a very long time. As a whole, the first season was absolutely first rate.

Why has it taken so long for TV to get it right on science fiction series? Or at least really, really good? It it that they've been stuck in "Star Trek" mode all these years? Did a good show have to wait for the special effects to enable it?

Am I crazy?
