The Cowboys get right on offense by strong strategic mauling of Washington: Decoding Kellen Moore

Since the start of November, the journey for this Cowboys offense has been a bit of a struggle. We have evaluated a number of elements that range from the health of a calf muscle, the relative blocking prowess of a tight end who doesn’t really ever block, a debate whether a marginal roster player is actually better than a $50 million right tackle, thoughts that the TCU job might be distracting the offensive coordinator and about a thousand other half-baked premises.

Breaking down Cowboys’ 2020 NFL Draft class, from Lamb and Diggs to DiNucci

The Cowboys will need to make quite a few strong picks in the 2021 NFL Draft to reinforce a roster that needs a substantial defensive makeover. But before we look forward, I want to close the book on the rookie class that came before them.

Where Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb stacks up against NFL's top rookies: Decoding Kellen

Our analysis of the Cowboys on a game-by-game and a snap-by-snap basis is only useful as long as the games have meaning, and I think we can safely say that their ninth loss of 2020 means we have crossed the threshold from meaningful to irrelevant football the rest of the way. In other words, there are some talking points on each side of the ball for the Baltimore game, but I cannot in clean conscience get too carried away about the details of the game in the big picture.

The future first-round (and Cowboys) wide receiver dominated in the Red River Shootout.

The 2020 NFL Draft gameplan: Here is what the Cowboys should do at No. 17

https://theathletic.com/1768254/2020/04/23/the-2020-nfl-draft-gameplan-here-is-what-the-cowboys-should-do-at-no-17/

This top group consists of players who have almost no chance of getting to No. 17:

Joe Burrow, Chase Young, Isaiah Simmons, Jedrick Wills, Jeffrey Okudah, Derrick Brown, CeeDee Lamb and, yes, Jerry Jeudy

In every one of these cases, if a player in this grouping gets to No. 17, assuming there is not a trade to add additional top-50 (or so) picks to move back a bit, you take the player. All eight of them should be prioritized over any smaller plan you have for this pick. Hopefully, I make myself clear here: You drop all smaller plans and take the elite player if he is one of these eight names.
