One of my very favorite weekends of the year is upon us. It is time for the beautiful Masters again, and I am geared up to watch plenty of golf. Sadly, it looks like weather is going to be an issue early on, as there looks to be plenty of rain today and tomorrow.
Nevertheless, lets get it going. Let’s watch Tiger, Els, Phil, and Vijay duel it out. I cannot wait.
Here is a live camera that is trained on the practice tee…
Here are the tv listings …Remember, this is the tournament that doesn’t like to televise too much of its golf…
Dave Anderson on Tiger’s mission …
TIGER WOODS has a new swing and a new ball, but he also has a new burden: winning a major this year, if only to keep the jackals away.
It doesn't have to be the Masters, which begins today. But if Woods does not win here, or at the United States Open at Pinehurst No. 2, or at the British Open at St. Andrews, or at the P.G.A. Championship at Baltusrol, he will have stirred more scrutiny than ever for having come away without a trophy in 14 consecutive majors since the 2002 United States Open at Bethpage Black.
If Woods wins even one of the four majors this year, all will be well in his world. At age 29, he would be on pace to surpass Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 majors.
But with each major Woods doesn't win, the heavier the burden will be at his next one. After having won 8 of his first 22 majors as a pro, he is 0 for his last 10.
What you are about to see is not a joke. This is not someone doing Photoshop of our dear friend and former producer, Rick Arnett. He really has been hired by CNNSI.com to be their “golf expert”. I swear. Way to go, Rick!

Keyshawn unhappy with contract? …
Receiver Keyshawn Johnson laughed Wednesday at an ESPN report that had the Cowboys potentially drafting Southern California receiver Mike Williams because Johnson was disgruntled about his contract.
Johnson said he talked to coach Bill Parcells and vice president Stephen Jones about his future, but "I have never had discussions about a new contract."
After catching 70 passes for 981 yards and six touchdowns in 2004, does he believe he is worth more than the $1.5 million base salary he is set to earn next season?
Of course.
But Johnson said he plans to honor his deal and has proved as much by making all but one of his off-season workouts.
"I am content where I am because I see the big picture," Johnson said. "And I don't operate like that with Bill, not with him. We have a friendship and relationship that works. Besides, if I had a problem with my contract, I wouldn't be working out. I wouldn't be running."
Johnson said he missed one workout because he was on a flight.
Williams will visit the Cowboys next week along with 19 other draft prospects -- though it's not likely Williams will be available when the Cowboys pick at No. 11.

Star Wars fans have been dorks for years. This is shocking news?
Who wins a Jeaporday contest between Star Wars fans and Soccer fans?
I can't decide if I would rather be rich and have herpes or poor and be clean!
I have Herpes, do you?
Yes, we won, but 47 at-bats and ZERO walks? Five runs in the first two games (21 innings at that)? Blalock is 0-for-8 (but at least three walks in game 1). This team isn't going to go far on the strength of its pitching and defense...
We're tied for first place. I'm afraid we won't have long to enjoy this.
we can comment just fine, thank you

Good Lord, Tampa only drew 8K fans, Chicago, drew 10K, Pitt drew 12K and Detroit 14K. San Fran nearly outdrew all of them!

The Kumars at No. 42 on BBCA
Very funny show.
Dude:
If you are going to crack on soccer/Star Wars fans at least spell "JEOPARDY" correctly.
No worries mate.
Cheers
At least Star Wars has a few, some-what cool things about it, soccer is a bore no matter what. This is from a guy that even played a little (it's not a tough game to play either...if the truely great athletes in the U.S. who are currently playing the the "Big III" took, oh, let's say 5 years of soccer training with Bruce Arena, they would wipe the floor with the poor bastards from other countries).
Obviously, in your mind Americans are the ultimate decision-makers as to what is interesting and what's boring huh? The rest of the world is just crazy. I mean baseball, the NATIONAL pastime, that's not boring, not at all. Golf, no one could call that boring. And, obviously, you only played soccer for a little while, found it too difficult to master and moved on. Honestly, my father tried to sell me on it as a kid, and i didn't grow to really enjoy it until I started playing intramurals in college. Now I appreciate, the skill, the speed, the imagination, and the anticipation of the next strike. But hey, maybe you're someone who doesn't appreciate skill and creativity.
Didn't say it wasn't a game of skill. I mentioned that I played a little because most folks argue that people think it is boring until they "actually play it." It is not a boring game to actually participate in, in fact, I found it quite challenging and fun (much like I have found baseball, football, basketball, golf, tennis, track, ping-pong, horseshoes, pool, darts...should I keep going?) By the way, you too would find ping-pong, darts, etc boring. Does that mean they don't take a high skill level to play?
I simply stated that at least Star Wars is somewhat interesting and I find soccer not so much.
Because I am American has no bearing to my decision on what is boring. Also, I am arguing that the top "American Footballer's" are better athletes, along with the basketball players (probably the world's greatest athlete's, certainly the most "athletic") than most of the players we currently have on our national soccer team. If we took the top players from the other sports and put them on our national socccer team, with adequate training, they would wipe the floor with the rest of the world in soccer.
Do you want to watch a between two top quality teams before you forge on with your "5 Years of training" comment?
Thierry Henry is faster WITH THE BALL than 99% of athletes in any sport in the US running without the worry of dribbling and keeping the ball under control.
Watch an EPL, Serie A, La Liga, or Bundesliga match some Saturday and evealuate what's possible.
And this comes from a life long football player, so it's not like I've been praying at the altar of soccer my whole life, either.
Prove it. Who state he's faster than 99%? I think it's PROBABLY hear-say. Remember, it was said that Jose Canseco could run a 3.9 seconds forty time, which is crap.
I watch about 2 or 3 matches a year, enough to form an opinion on. Debateably, I could be full of crap!
Who's playing and what channel Saturday? I'll give it a watch if there's an interesting match on.
BTW, I saw the original "FEVER PITCH". Good, solid, funny movie. I recommend it to anyone. I have absolutely no interest in watching the American, bastardized version. The only people who whine more than the soccer community is the Red Sox "Nation".
Hey Bob,
Fix your links to when you click on it another page pops up. You have to remember to right click and I dont remember well.
amen FAT BRAD, AMEN! I would love to see how someone with Allen Iverson's ability would perform on the pitch, but you may have noticed that most of the great creative players in soccer aren't much over 6" so that eliminates many of the basketball players. And you may have noticed, Argentina, a country known for its soccer, is on the map when it comes to basketball (gold medal in the last Olympics), so not all the athletes go into soccer anymore.Same holds true for other countries (France, Serbia & Montenegro, Spain) With baseball players, some could be good, some couldn't. I don't imagine that Curt Schilling would be a great soccer player, after all baseball players are more recognized for their hand-eye coordination and their ability to throw than their speed. Now with football players, you have a point, but with only the corner backs and the running backs might you have a point. They are the right height where they could excel at the sport. And don't get it twisted, there are excellent athletes playing in the MLS and the men's national team. But Landon Donovan is 5' 8", could he really play professional basketball or football?
Fun sports points "fat brad" and "anonymous". I hope Bob's Sports-Blog weenie is going crazy!
There are some futballer's whom I am sure would make fine football players as well. Also, the linebacker MIGHT translate best from the gridiron to the pitch. Their speed and size would do them well at any defensive position, from goalie to defensman to half-back.
Got to agree with Coach Cullen - Got to tivo Kumars at No. 42 on BBCA. I'm an Indian so I think it's particularly funny making fun of my kind but I'm not sure if everyone else will or not. An even better show is an Indian sketch comedy show called "Goodness Gracious Me" on BBCA as well. Hilarious and it's more sketch comedy while Kumars is a talk show...
if the truly great athletes in the u.s. did play soccer, u.s. soccer would be much more of a force on the world stage. however, since this is not the case, i dont think you can say with any certainty that "they would wipe the floor with the poor bastards from other countries". that's an ignorant comment and you're a jerk.
Did you know that Ron Mexico is a Hockey player? Mike is talented...

Big smooth, it's hard to express sarcasm in print. If you think I'm a jerk because of a sarcastic opinion used merely to get a little sports-blog talk going, then you sir, are a prick who can't take a joke.
Bob and anyone else,
Did anyone besides me notice that during the Ranger's game the shot of Tom Hicks and some other guy wearing the exact same shirt? They both had black polos and a grey (gray) sweater vest. I think matching is unintentional comedy at its best, and when two dudes do it, trouble.
dont fall for it, i was trying to be sarcastic also....don't take offense dude. the "you're a jerk" was a play on the corso line....i understand your point and was just trying to keep it going...
