Chan Ho Park's Message Board

We begin our day with a most bizarre development out of Korea:

Chan Ho Park in homeland controversy ..

San Diego Padres pitcher Park Chan-ho made headlines here Monday, not for his performance in the Major League, but for his reaction to a fan’s criticism.
Major portal sites in the country were flooded with short comments about the 32-year-old pitcher after they carried the story, titled ``Park Has War of Words With a Fan.’’

Things began on Sunday, when a Korean man who revealed his full name, left a message on the pitchers’ official homepage (www.chanho park61.com), in almost threatening tones, demanding better performances from Park. He called on Park to have a new mindset and to get out of the slump of the past few years, saying, ``Don’t even think of coming back to Korea, if you fail to recover the pride of Korean baseball this season.’’

Mavericks beat the Bucks handily

For the second game in a row, they steamrolled an Eastern Conference opponent and turned the fourth quarter into a hood ornament as they clobbered Milwaukee, 114-95, Monday night at American Airlines Center.

Combined with Saturday's 33-point win over New Jersey, it's the first time this season the Mavericks have had back-to-back double-figure wins.

"The guys came out after a big win with a pretty good effort," coach Avery Johnson said. "They actually made me smile."

In case you are scoring along at home:

Diop: 28 minutes, 0 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks
Dampier:14 minutes, 3 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 scolding to get him to act like he cares.

NFL blushes; admits it butchered the Polamalu interception call

The NFL said the referee made a mistake: Troy Polamalu caught the ball.

The league acknowledged Monday that referee Pete Morelli erred when he overturned on replay Polamalu's interception of a Peyton Manning pass Sunday in the playoff game between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.

Mike Pereira, the league's vice president of officiating, said in a statement that Morelli should have upheld the call, made with 5:26 left in Pittsburgh's win over the Colts.

And now, an email about Dampier:

Everything you guys said is completely right on. However, Damp would not have been available to us if he had heart.

Remember he was close to a sign & trade with Atlanta before we got him. There would have been significantly more interest in him at the time (from other teams) if he played as hard as some of the other guys, and, thus he would have never become a Maverick.

That being said, Damp frustrates the heck out of me.

At least we picked up Diop for nothing,

#1 P1

That guy brought up a fine point that reminded me of the old Andy Pettitte debate. Pettitte, in 1999, went 14-11 and had an ERA of 4.70 for the Yankees. He was being offered for Rusty Greer, Peter Gammons suggested, and our show was the only one that would have jumped all over that deal. Greggo was telling me how great Rusty was, and also how spare Pettitte looked in 1999. My response was, he wasn’t going to be available coming off a 22-5 season. He is only tradable for the Yankees because he is having a bad stretch. But, he will snap out of it. The Rangers passed, but the point is this: Great players are not available in trade (save the rare contract issue). Their teams hold onto them. If you can acquire a center, it is because he is either spare all of the time, or spare most of the time. Dampier qualifies, and Yao Ming does not.

That is why Erick is here.

How did New Green Bay Coach Mike McCarthy get his job? Many P1’s have a theory or two:

I disagree with all of them, of course.

Finally, a good strong P1 was up late one night and found this....

Yep. That’s my guy.

So Marcus Vick has serious legal issues and Michael Vick is about to go to trial on his alleged intentional "herpes infection" of another woman....Mama Vick must be proud.

It's nice to see that Vince Young has somehow kept his nose squeaky clean during his time in Austin. For some reason, that makes me pull for his success even more.

Favre Picture must make Bob crazy jealous, like that chick in Fatal Attraction.

Taken from the Severyn link:

Having worked on both radio and television, the former Mighty Duck brings five years of hockey broadcasting experience with him to Anaheim. He has worked as an analyst with Fox Sports Net in Dallas and the Stars’ radio flagship 1310 AM, The Ticket.

Since when does the Ticket carry Stars games?

Luis-
Nobody gives a crap about your party rentals or worthless hot sports opinions. Get your own radio show and then people will check out your blog.

your blog sucks, too

Damn, must be a slow day. The only thing going on is a dog pile on some poor P1.

While margarita machines may be a little gay, I give the guy credit for starting and running a business. I know from experience that is not easy. However, learning to spell is very important on your company web site. Formally should be FORMALLY. And I don't think frowl is a word.

Best of luck in your business, but I hope you are ready to catch sh*t about the blog and web site if you post them on this blog.

formally = FORMERLY

Damn, now I feel sorry for the guy. His profession was deemed gay, which his only arguement was that it was "semi-gay" and his blog (in a great line by Rick) sucks too. Any posters out there run a suicide help line? Anybody?

For the record the word you were looking for is frau, not frowl.

Frau is the German word for woman.

Everyone's trying to get it right, get it right

Everybody's working for the weekend
Everybody wants a little romance
Everybody's goin' off the deep end
Everybody needs a second chance, oh
You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go

Everyone's looking to see if it was you
Everyone wants you to come through
Everyone's hoping it'll all work out
Everyone's waiting they're holding out

Everybody's working for the weekend
Everybody wants a little romance
Everybody's goin' off the deep end
Everybody needs a second chance, oh
You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go
