Steven Gerrard celebrates the unthinkable victory!
Liverpool ride their luck to Istanbul …
In one night all Liverpool's grandeur has been restored. Thanks to Luis García's fourth-minute goal, they stand proud over English football once more as the club that will seek a remarkable fifth European Cup by taking on PSV Eindhoven or, almost certainly, Milan in the final on May 25.
They were often pinned back and, had Didier Drogba converted a header in the 83rd minute or Eidur Gudjohnsen not flashed a shot wide in stoppage time, Chelsea would have been bound for Istanbul instead. Despite that there was no fluke to a durability that has been Liverpool's prime asset under Rafael Benítez in the Champions League. Inspiration, too, was never in short supply at this great arena.

Bob,
Have you seen the replays of Liverpool's "goal"? And houston fan's thought they got shafted!!!
Bob,
What a great win for the Reds!! They showed fantastic resolve in the final minutes to keep Chelsea from scoring. Have you ever seen 6 minutes of stoppage time? Unbelievable. I cannot believe they have reached the final.
Perhaps a Bad radio Champion's League Final watching party is in order...
The goal looked like it crossed the line in real-time, it was very close though. It's about time Chelsea had some bad luck anyway, just to wipe the smug grin off Jose's face. As for the six minutes of stoppage time, the only place I could see that coming from was a certain Russian's back pocket!!
Liverpool still suck.
That second half was a penalty kill if I've ever seen one. Anyone else think Gerrard is overrated? Does he ever do anything?
How come in the Mexican League I can get 14 different camara angles in seconds, and chance to show all of the replays in slow motion to determine if a call was correct, but in England I get four angles and none of them are worth looking at?
Is Mexico's technology that much better then anyone else's in the world when it comes to replays????
Go Liverpool.
MYNWA
Soccer sucks, talk about basketball.
Wonder if Bob will be "simulating" the match via the miracle of PS2 FIFA 2005?
If only I had a PS2...I'd have to whoop up on ya.
LIVERPOOL! LIVERPOOL!
ISTANBUL! ISTANBUL!
GO REDS!!!
When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm,
Is the golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of the lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown,
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you’ll never walk alone,
You’ll never walk alone.
