My soul still mourns Dan having left that game in Houston with the Mavs only up by 1 point with only a minute remaining. Does such actions by big mac warrant him the guiltless joy and satisfaction of the 40 point, ass whipping blowout by the mavs??? As one who had to spend two years in cleveland, i understand his folly, but do not forgive his lack of faith. Let's have Sports Bob at the helm and leave knee jerk dan to his own devices (water bong, dvd porn, etc.). Go starwars! BTW starbuck is hot, even with the pugnose.
The game was kind of a letdown in the sense of having a 40 pt. blowout in a seventh game. As a Mav's fan I have been saved a few extra gray hairs a closer game would have brought but there is an itty bitty (gay word) part of me that is let down that the game was over before the 4th quarter started. And hopefully this ends Dirk's absolutely horrible shooting worries. For the first time in my Dirk watching history , I actually thought "Dirk, stop shooting the damn ball!"

Can you believe that... from McGrady playing like MJ, to Yao showing his potential, to Dirk dissappearing, and Jet Terry playing out of his head, this series has everything you could hope for in sports... bottom line, the Maverick TEAM won the series, remember in the beginning when we thought that the Rockets were McGrady and just a bunch of dudes? The theory seemed to be proven Saturday night...on to Pheonix and thank God we don't have to deal with Yao anymore in the middle. IT IS NOW TIME for Dirk to play like his old self!!!

Can you imagine Jean-Jacques writing an article about how Vinny Testeverde completed 30 straight passes in pregame warmups before a game in which he throws 3 picks...I think not.

Perhaps the most satisfying part of this series was finally seeing T-Mac exposed for what he is: the NBA's version of A-Rod. He'll fool just about everybody (I'd hate to have to pay Doug Collins' dry cleaning bill) with big numbers, but he's just not a winner. When the knockout blow was dealt last night in the first quarter, McGrady was eating Spalding burgers and going 1 for 7. He had some monster numbers and put together a heck of a highlight reel, but did his best work in games one and two. Look back at his fourth quarters in games three and four. That's a guy who's drawing MJ comparisons? Please. If someone offered me T-Mac straight up for Josh Howard in a trade, I'd have to pass.

Why not a column about how many consecutive games of HORSE the Rockets guards have won against the post players? Maybe a nice peice about how many consecutive seconds the Rockets can spin a basketball on their index fingers? C'mon Houston Chronicle, Texas needs to know these things!
anyone who thinks Mcgrady is a loser is stupid, you can't judge individuals on team accomplishments. He is the ONLY reason they made to game seven. I wasn't a McGrady fan before the series, but how could anyone criticize him after this series...bad statement coach...bad statement

If anyone out there is saying that they did not lose ANY faith that Dallas could pull this out is not telling it like it is. They had to win 4 out 5 to win after losing the first 2 home games. I don't care if you the 2005 Spurs or the 1992 Chicago Bulls, that is a very tall order. A team beats the piss out of Dallas the first two homes games in a row and you still have "full" confidence that they can beat them at a minimum 4 out of the next 5 times. Hey, Dallas really pulled it out and I am proud of them. But they had some serious odds against them to do this. I did think that it was in the realm of possibilities and was always hopeful but I certainly had some measure of doubt of success. Lessons learned: they learned or have been exposed to a pretty good defense and found ways to score a plenty. They went up against a team that picked and rolled, penetrated and passed it to open three point shooters and found ways to challenge the three pointer. They went up against a team with 2 players that they had a real hard time to match up defensively similarly as will be in Amare's case. These are similar traits that this Phoenix team has. But the big question is if Dallas can find an answer to the high pace run and gun offense that no one has been successful against this year.
