Mavericks vs Trail Blazers 4/16/11 Game 1 ADS

Mavs win game one, but struggled to keep Portland out of the paint. All season long the Trail Blazers shot a 38% in the paint, last night they managed to shoot 44%. Mavs had a lower ADS in only one quarter that being the 2nd when the Mavs went into the half with a 10 point lead. Its going to be a glass case of emotion if the Mavs can't figure out a way to lower their ADS because if it weren't for their free throw shooting we may be looking at this game in a different light.

Side Notes
- Dirk scored 16 of his 28 in the 4th.
- Mavs made 25 of their 89 points from the line. As Portland only managed 9 from their free throws.
- Portland dominated ADS in the 3rd with an ADS+ of 7.9 compared to the Mavs 16.2

hi there,

you made some errors here:
Barea went for 7 FGA - his ADS/ADS+ is at: 9.14

the Team ADS (Dallas) is now at 14.1
the correct Team ADS+ (Dallas) is at 12.5

PS: Dirk made 20 FGA not 10 like you stated.

Thanks for pointing out those mistakes, sometimes my fat fingers get the best of me.

We didn't count Barea's 38ft shot at the end of the 1st, just as we didn't count Roy's 45ft at the end of 4th. We don't count these shots when we factor the ADS numbers because it would throw them way off from what the teams were really trying to shoot. And I use the word trying very loose.

ok - but as far as I know you mentioned that every really long half court shot will be counted as a 30 ft throw. thats how I calculated those numbers with.
