BaD Radio - Recap - 3/21/11

Monday 3/21/11

Episode: 2896

Location: Studio

The Mix: “He’s making her cry every night in the shower.” - Donovan

The Open: “My name is Roger Murdock, I’m the co-pilot.” Bob has never seen Robocop, he went to a school when he was a kid that didn’t allow them to go to the movies. The idea being, every bit of money made from a movie helps fund smut movies. Dan and his wife forgot to give their kid a dollar for her tooth. His wife made up the story that the Tooth Fairy was busy in Japan helping with the tsunami.

12:40 – Rangers Talk: With the belief that this team now has World Series aspirations, is too much being made about minutiae that would not be a story if this team was coming off a last place finish? It’s just the nature of media to over-cover and over-analyze the smallest of “problems”. Chris Davis is having a ridiculous spring training, batting over .400 with 4 HR and 15 RBIs. “I just want to be in the majors.” – Chris Davis. He needs to prove himself in the regular season before faith will be instilled in the young player.

1:00 – Bob’s Audio: In Bob’s effort to digitalize his entire broadcasting career before the Ticket, he’s come across another gem. Bob interviewed former Virginia Tech basketball coach Bill Foster back in 1996 in which he tried to ask some hard hitting questions. He uses his former experience playing high school basketball to try and tell Coach Foster how to run his team. He gets hung up on.

1:20 – Basketball Talk: Things seem to be going sour between the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony after he has been sulking over not getting the ball enough. Amare Stoudemire came out and said that they need to go back to the type of offense that they were playing before Carmelo arrived.

1:35 – College Basketball: How is your bracket looking? (tase) Bob and Donovan treat the tournament like the Olympics, it’s on tv all day but there’s not really any “appointment television”. The quality of play is really bad in comparison to the NBA.

2:00 – Donovan Meets Snoop Dogg: Snoop Dogg performed at the House of Blues last night and Donovan had to buy his own ticket but was given a backstage pass. There were 3 other people that were scheduled to interview Snoop and Donovan was scheduled to go last. Turns out no one else was there to interview him, just get pictures with him. He got to go back in afterwards for 3 minutes and got audio. Working on getting that. “I’m slow motion with the potion, whats happenin” – Snoop Dogg

2:20 – More Snoop: Trying to get audio. Highlights include: Waxing poetic about the Steelers, Cowboys, Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, and he got a liner from Snoop Dogg.

2:40 – A Surprise: Dan now has a Twitter, @bracketdan, while Bob is dipping his toe into the Facebook world.

3:00 – WTDS: On this day in 1806, Benito Juarez was born. Happy Birthday to The Bone Ranger, Mike Dunleavy and Matthew Broderick.

Listen to BaD Radio everyday from 12 – 3pm on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket. I do, and I has opulence.
